Chrysler LLC names Scott R. Garberding to senior vice president and chief procurement officer, replacing John Campi as the auto maker’s top purchaser.

Campi, who joined Chrysler in January after serving as a consultant to the company, is leaving for health-related reasons.

“I think we have made significant strides in streamlining the Procurement organization in terms of structure, process and people,” Campi said. “Having achieved what I set out to do in joining Chrysler, I’m ready to turn over the reins to Scott, whom I’m confident will take the organization to the next level.”

Garberding has been serving as vice president-Global Alliance Operations since January 2008.
