Chrysler moves way down south

Chrysler Corp. has submitted an application to the Argentine government to ask approval to become a registered automobile manufacturer. Chrysler plans to begin production in second-quarter 1996 of Jeep Grand Cherokees for Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. Production facilities will be leased from Iveco Argentina. Output is expected to reach 6,000 units annually by 2000.
