Gary Vaynerchuk, who used social media to ferment sales of his family wine business, will deliver the keynote speech at this year's DrivingSales Executive Summit presented with WardsAuto.

The third-annual conference for innovative-minded dealer principals and managers is Oct 9-11 at the Bellagio Resort in Las Vegas.

Vaynerchuk harnessed the power of online social networking to expand the family business from $4 million to $60 million.

He became one of the first to reach Facebook's friend limit and accumulated more than 800,000 followers on Twitter. He is touted as a maven at using digital media to humanize a business.

“Gary is a true inspiration and his passion comes across in everything he does,” DrivingSales CEO and founder Jared Hamilton says. “His story resonates with dealers because dealers are in the people business, not just the car business.”

Dealer.com will provide copies of Vaynerchuk's New York Times bestseller “The Thank You Economy” to dealers who register for the conference. He will sign copies at the event.

Other scheduled speakers include:

  • Aaron Strout, chief marketing officer at social-media agency Powered.

  • Jason Falls, an expert and blogger on social media and digital marketing.

  • Rob Siefker, director of Zappos.com's customer-loyalty team. He started his career with the company as a temporary call-center employee. He has helped the team grow from 30 to 350 employees.

The conference will include breakout sessions and a best-idea contest highlighting successful dealership sales strategies.

Vendors will vie for the DrivingSales Innovation Cup, a contest that spotlights new products and services for dealers.
