Indonesia Sales, Production Surge in July
Ford Motor Indonesia, unaffected by the Japanese disaster, reported a record monthly result as deliveries soared 165% in July to 1,717 vehicles.
New-car sales in Indonesia of 89,056 units in July were up 23.5% from prior-year’s 72,100, as the industry recovers from a parts shortage following the Japanese earthquake and tsunami.
Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries data lifts the country’s 7-month total to 506,743 units, up 14.5% from 442,314 a year earlier.
Ford Ranger sales up 68% in July.
Production of 83,591 units in July jumped 22.2% from 68,386 units a year ago. The 7-month output of 467,418 was up 15.1% from prior-year 405,098 units.

The Ranger, Ford’s best-selling vehicle in Indonesia, saw its best monthly performance of the year, with deliveries up 68% to 829 units.
The new Ford Fiesta had 679 deliveries for its second-best monthly performance since arriving in showrooms last year.
Ford Indonesia President Director Will Angove says sales were boosted by the market debut of the new Ranger at the Indonesia Motor Show in July, creating excitement ahead of its launch.
Ford’s 7-month sales total was up 185% to 9,359 units.
