Italy Vehicle Sales Down 20.8% in August

Italy vehicle sales totaled 62,651 units for August 2012, down 20.8% vs. August 2011.

August 2012 vehicle sales decreased 48.0% compared with July 2012 sales. The European holiday likely contributed to this drop.

2012 sales through August totaled 1,069,639, down 21.3% over the same period in 2011.

Fiat Automobile SpA is the leader in year-to-date sales with a total of 318,449, resulting in a 29.8% market share.
