Japan Vehicle Sales Up 66.4% in May

Japan vehicle sales totaled 394,950 units for May, up 66.4% vs. May 2011. Sales last year were dramatically low due to the earthquake and tsunami.

May 2012 sales increased 9.82% compared with April 2012.

2012 sales through May totaled 2,442,019, up 55.8% over like-2011.

Toyota was the leader in year-to-date vehicle sales, with total of 750,749, resulting in a 30.7% market share.
