Elena Ford Takes Position at Ford Credit

Ford Motor Credit Co., the auto maker’s financial arm, names Elena Ford executive vice president-global brand and marketing, a spokeswoman confirms.

Elena Ford, cousin of Ford Motor Co. Executive Chairman Bill Ford, currently serves as the car maker’s director-North American product marketing, planning and strategy.

In her new position, effective Aug. 1, Elena Ford will be responsible for “developing and implementing global brand and marketing strategies and optimizing synergies across the credit organization,” the spokeswoman tells Ward’s.

“A lot of the responsibilities and experience that she has from her current job is applicable here,” the spokeswoman says. “For example, her knowledge of the brand, marketing, business strategy, finance and web solutions are all applicable to her new position.”

An announcement regarding Elena Ford’s replacement is forthcoming, the spokeswoman says.
