The Big Three restructuring plans are due to Congress Tuesday December 2. So here's a question, will General Motors' plan include the cutting of certain brands?
Several dealers and media reports think so. Plans are being formed now for dealers to fly into Washington D.C. next week to lobby against any blue print that calls for the elimination of brands or dealers.
The ones on the endangered list? Pontiac and Hummer...Saturn or Saab? If all four brands were eliminated, nearly 2,000 franchises would shut down. Of that 2,000, roughly 1,000 would be stand alone dealerships. Ouch!
