GM-AvtoVAZ Appoints New Managing Director

Jeffrey Glover will continue to serve as director-new business development and planning at General Motors Russia when he takes the helm at GM-AvtoVAZ in December.

VIENNA – ZAO GM-AvtoVAZ, the manufacturer of the Chevrolet Niva cross/utility vehicle based in Togliatti, Russia, names Jeffrey Glover as its new managing director, effective Dec.1.

Glover currently serves as director-new business development and planning, General Motors Russia in Moscow and will continue to perform his duties in addition to the new job in Togliatti.

Glover will replace John Hanson at GM-AvtoVAZ, who will be repatriating and assuming a new management role at GM’s North America International Product Center.

GM-AvtoVAZ is a joint venture between General Motors Co., Lada-manufacturer OAO AvtoVAZ and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

The auto maker produced 14,917 vehicles in the year’s first nine months, down 66.2% from year-ago. It sold 16,255 vehicles through September, including 15,783 in Russia and 472 among countries belonging to the Commonwealth of Independent States.
