Four-door Bronco arrives next year

Ford will produce a 4-door Bronco for the 1997 model year, adding yet another entrant in the SUV market. Ltd. hints it'll produce a larger minivan at its Marysville, OH, facilities by '97. Toyota Motor Corp. also has a new minivan on tap at its Georgetown, KY, assembly operation

Ford will produce a 4-door Bronco for the 1997 model year, adding yet another entrant in the SUV market. An upscale version of the new "Suburban fighter," as Ford folks like to call it, may carry Lincoln's marque. Honda Motor Co. Ltd. hints it'll produce a larger minivan at its Marysville, OH, facilities by '97. Toyota Motor Corp. also has a new minivan on tap at its Georgetown, KY, assembly operation two years hence. It's thought that both companies will continue to produce their current models, the Honda Oydessy and Toyota Previa, in Japan. Meantime, Ford reportedly will offer a Mercury version of its hot-selling Explorer SUV. And Cadillac is said to be lobbying to get an SUV. Question: Are SUVs too hot not to cool down?
