American Honda Motor Co. Inc. is considering bringing the 5-door Civic to North America, where it would join a growing 5-door market that includes the Mazda Protege5 and Toyota Matrix. Also bowing in North America is the '02 Civic Si — an updated version of the high-performance 3-door and the fifth in a series of Si releases that began in 1986. A minor model change to the '02 Odyssey minivan is in the works, and the gas-electric hybrid Civic sedan debuts in the spring. Honda also confirms the 2003 debut of a new sport/utility vehicle, sister to the Acura MDX, likely to be assembled at Honda's plant in Alliston, Ont.
