Hyundai Motor America releases two sketches today of the rear-wheel-drive concept car it will be showing at next month’s New York auto show.

The concept, dubbed Genesis, signals the upcoming RWD large sedan Hyundai plans to retail in the U.S. sometime in the next year and a half.

Codenamed BH, the vehicle is the next-generation of the car that has been sold by Hyundai in South Korea as the Dynasty.

HMA Chief Designer Joel Piaskowski told Ward’s at last month’s Chicago auto show that the models sold in South Korea and the U.S. will be similar, but the Dynasty will have a leather-wrapped instrument panel as an exclusive feature.

Hyundai has not announced what it intends to call the U.S. vehicle, which from the sketches, has an aerodynamic shape, with large wheels and an athletic stance.
