Frank and Charles Duryea and Charles Brady King were among the auto industry pioneers and enthusiasts who met in a Chicago school room on Nov. 1, 1895, to form the first automobile club in the U.S. to disseminate information about the new horseless carriage among inventors and enthusiasts. But it will be another year before the Duryea brothers "found" the U.S. auto industry by building and selling 13 similar cars.
