Cross Lander U.S.A. Inc., which has changed its name to Global Vehicles U.S.A. Inc., plans to file a complaint against Romania in accordance with the Bilateral Investment Treaty between Romania and the U.S.
The dispute stems from Global’s claim that it is the victim of a barrage of attacks from Romanian government officials, the media and various other parties intent on undermining the auto maker’s investments in its Aro assembly plant in Campulung, Romania.
The company, which also is moving its global headquarters from Miami to Atlanta, says it regrets having to file the complaint but is left with no other option in order to protect its investors.
