Energy-Efficient Vehicles Focus of International Forum

An international conference in Malaysia will bring together global experts to address regulatory, consumer and technological issues facing energy-efficient vehicles.
The inaugural Kuala Lumpur Energy Efficient Vehicle Conference, to be known as E-mobilia World, is scheduled for March 26-27 in Kuala Lumpur.
The event, developed by trade-fair specialist Koelnmesse and the Malaysia Automotive Institute, aims to assess and help accelerate EEV advancements from development to market acceptance.
Public and private-sector officials from the U.S., China, U.K., Korea, Singapore, Germany, Malaysia and Australia will address topics including:
Market adoption of mainstream future automotive technologies.
Transitioning from government-supported markets for vehicles and infrastructure to fully commercial offerings.
Best practices for infrastructure deployment.
Implications associated with a major roll-out in tropical megacities.
International standards to increase the pace of innovation and foster consumer acceptance and technology advancements.
Eco-friendly public transport and the impact of electrifying urban transit.
Speakers include James Miller, senior technical advisor-U.S. Department of Energy’s vehicle-technologies program; Myoungho Sunwoo, president-Electric Vehicle Assn. of Asia Pacific; and Thomas Jakob, Asia/Pacific managing director-Bosch Software Innovations.
Also scheduled are Eagle Zhao, senior manager-BYD Auto (China); Ben Holland, head of the Rocky Mountain Institute’s Project Get Ready (U.S.); and Gary S. Schkade, Asia/Pacific managing director-SAE International (China).
Organizers say E-mobilia World will provide an exceptional learning and networking platform with thought leaders and industry experts.
“It will address key regulatory, consumer as well as technological issues facing stakeholders in the sector,” the conference announcement says.
