The U.S. Agricultural Research Service (ARS) has successfully introduced poultry to the world of automotive production.
ARS's new technology allows chicken feathers to be processed into a light plastic substance similar to fiberglass, which is durable enough to replace existing heavier materials in cars and trucks.
Applications include biodegradable trim panels, sound-insulated headliners and woven seat covers.
