Delphi Corp. says it lost $56 million in 2003, largely due to $402 million in restructuring charges, compared with a profit of $342 million in 2002.
The earnings picture is bleaker for rival Visteon Corp., which reported a full-year 2003 net loss of $1.2 billion vs. a $352 million loss year-ago.
Visteon's fourth quarter net loss alone was $863 million, largely due to special charges of $756 million, mostly related to restructuring.
