After releasing teaser images last week, Infiniti puts out a full picture, albeit computer-generated, of the electrified prototype it will show at next week’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in northern California.

The Prototype 10 is a low, angular, single-seat car showing the evolution of design language seen on the Q Inspiration concept from the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Infiniti says. Its “cool, clean and forward-looking” appearance hints at the design language due on the Nissan luxury unit’s forthcoming electrified vehicles.

Karim Habib, Infiniti’s executive design director, says the Prototype 10 “echoes the layout and design of some of the most evocative car designs of all time, where power was celebrated through high-powered single-seat competition cars.”

Infiniti announced in January it will have electrified powertrains in all new production models starting in 2021, matching luxury competitors making similar pronouncements such as Lexus and Volvo. However, it will still maintain its internal-combustion engines, as it expects electrified vehicles to make up more than half, but not all of, its global sales by 2025.

Infiniti will reveal full details of the Prototype 10 at the Pebble Beach event on Aug. 23.
