Malaysia Light-Vehicle Deliveries Up 10% in November
Last month’s result pushed year-to-date sales up 2.7% to 567,170 units, with car deliveries rising 1.3% and CVs improving 14.7%.
Malaysia’s new-vehicle sales rose 10% year-on-year in November to 53,365 units, but the industry anticipates a slower December as consumers wait to buy 2013 production-year stock.
Car sales rose 9.5% to 46,392 units, while commercial-vehicle deliveries climbed 17.2% to 6,973, Malaysian Automotive Assn. says in a statement.
It attributes a 3% month-on-month drop in sales to November having fewer working days.
Production jumped 32.8% in November to 46,968 units, with the passenger-vehicle build surging 37.0% to 42,934 and CV output flat, up five units to 4,034.
The November result pushed year-to-date sales up 2.7% to 567,170 units, with car deliveries ahead 1.3% to 498,723 units and CVs improving 14.7% to 68,447.
The 11-month production total of 524,467 units was up 4.5% from prior-year’s 501,755. Car output showed a 1.7% uptick to 467,861, while CV builds jumped 35.2% to 56,606.
