Mitsubishi will debut three concept cars at next month’s Tokyo auto show, two of them plug-in hybrids.
Each concept features what Mitsubishi calls “@earth” technology, a suite of next-generation advanced technologies that “embody the concepts of environmental responsibility, driving pleasure and toughness and safety.”
The Mitsubishi Concept GC-PHEV is a fullsize SUV fitted with a high-output plug-in hybrid-electric system and with the automaker’s all-wheel-drive technology, making it suitable for all-terrain driving.
The Concept GC-PHEV2 also uses a next-generation preventive-safety technology, Mitsubishi says.
The XR-PHEV is a compact SUV that promises “nimble drivability and a body style resembling a sport coupe.”
The Concept AR is a compact multipurpose vehicle fitted with a downsized direct-injected and turbocharged engine. Its interior “provides for a relaxing space,” Mitsubishi says, with a series of possible seat arrangements.
The 43rd Tokyo Motor Show opens to media Nov. 20 and to the public Nov. 22.
