Nissan Still Atop Most-Seen Auto Ads Chart
In Nissan's first-place ad for the week of Oct. 21, a man hops into his’20 Altima and drives to his friend’s house just to answer a text message in person because, the company says, its vehicles have “tech that helps you be there.”
Nissan takes first place for the second straight week in iSpot.tv’s ranking of the most-viewed automotive commercials – the ads tallying the highest number of impressions across national broadcast and cable TV airings.
In the first-place ad for the week of Oct. 21, a man hops into his ’20 Altima and drives to his friend’s house just to answer a text message in person because, the company says, its vehicles have “tech that helps you be there.”
In Lincoln’s second-place commercial, Matthew McConaughey emerges from multicolored clouds of smoke in the ’20 Aviator, dismissing “amped-up” performance in favor of “performance that just leaves you feeling better.”
This ad has the best iSpot Attention Index (163) in the ranking, getting 63% fewer interruptions than the average auto ad (interruptions include changing the channel, pulling up the guide, fast-forwarding or turning off the TV).
In the No.3 spot, real Chevy owners (not actors) from all walks of life explain how Chevrolet is the only brand to win J.D. Power Dependability Awards across its cars, trucks and SUVs four years in a row. Volkswagen takes fourth place with an ad for the Tiguan showing the model’s Overhead View Camera in action, saving an oblivious pedestrian from being backed into.
Hyundai closes out the ranking with a commercial starring adorable dogs of all sizes. The company professes that “no matter what size adventure you’re into, it’s better in a Hyundai.”
