Audi of America will unleash its long-awaited lineup of diesel-powered cars and cross/utility vehicles for the U.S. at the Los Angeles auto show next week.
Four ’14-model vehicles will be showcased with Audi’s 3.0L V-6 turbocharged clean diesel under their hoods for the first time in the U.S. market, the A8, A7 and A6 cars and Q5 CUV.
The Q7 CUV has offered the V-6 TDI in the U.S. since September, with prices starting at $52,000.
Audi says fuel economy will be increased up to 30% and carbon-dioxide emissions lowered by as much as 30% in each of the vehicles, compared with their gasoline powertrains.
The diesel will be available in spring 2013 in the A8 and join the A6, A7 and Q5 lineups in fall 2013. Pricing will be announced closer to launch.
