Lexus sold its 2 millionth vehicle, an RX 330 SUV, purchased by Steven Sandman at JM Lexus in Margate, FL, the world's highest volume Lexus store.

The landmark purchase won Sandman a luxurious four-day, three night vacation to world-famous Pebble Beach Resort in Monterey, CA.

JM Lexus sold a record 6,333 new vehicles and 1,137 pre-owned vehicles in 2003.

In recognition of the dealership's success, Lexus will donate $25,000 for two South Florida organizations to share — the Youth Automotive Training Center, which educates at-risk youth in basic automotive repair, academic remediation, job readiness and life management skills; and Deliver the Dream, which provides retreat weekends to families and children coping with life-threatening illnesses.

“We're very proud to be a part of the Lexus team, and it was an exciting surprise that JM Lexus sold the 2 millionth Lexus vehicle,” says Pat Moran, dealership principal and CEO of JM Family Enterprises, an $8 billion company founded by her father, the legendary Jim Moran, who first sold cars in Chicago, and initially went to Florida to retire.

Sandman, 40, a Boca Raton, FL resident, is a vice president at Altadis USA, an international cigar maker.

The purchase is his second Lexus. “It feels great to be the 2 millionth customer,” he says.
