China’s Hafei Motor Enters Russia

Pricing for the Hafei Brio will begin at $7,990 when it goes on sale in April.

VIENNA – Russia’s largest importer of Chinese-made vehicles, Irito Group, will begin selling Hafei Motor Co. Ltd.'s Brio small car beginning in April.

Known as the Hafei Lobo in China and designed by Italy's Pininfarina SpA, the car is powered by either a 46 hp 1.0L or 65 hp 1.1L engine. Pricing will begin at $7,990 and $8,590, respectively.

Irito expects to sell 1,200 Brios this year. So far 500 units have been ordered from the auto maker. The importer says it may launch sales of larger Hafei cars in the future.

In addition to the Hafei Brio, Irito imports BYD Auto Co. Ltd. small cars, Great Wall Automobile Holding Co. SUVs and pickups, and commercial vehicles sourced from

Dongfeng Motor Group Co. Ltd., FAW Group Corp. and Beiqi Foton Motor Co. Ltd.
