For a second straight week, Nissan’s “Electric Cars for Electric Drivers” spot ranks No.1 in iSpot.tv’s list of the most-viewed automotive commercials – the ads that have generated the highest number of impressions across national broadcast and cable TV airings.

With no NFL games to run ads against as the pro football world takes a week off before the Super Bowl, automakers turned to a variety of other programming to promote their vehicles during the week of Jan. 31.

Nissan led the way, focusing its top-ranked ad on NBA and college basketball to gain viewers. More than 35% of its estimated $1.5 million national ad spend was dedicated to the two.

Chevrolet returned to the list at No.2 with “Taco Truck,” an ad anyone watching the Olympics almost certainly saw at some point. Coverage of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, to which Chevy dedicated over 85% of its national ad budget for “Taco Truck,” delivered nearly 32% of the ad’s total impressions. It also remained a viewer favorite, according to iSpot’s Ace Metrix survey, with an overall score 6.4% higher than industry norms.

Two new commercials made their chart debuts: Audi’s “Keep Moving Forward” and Jeep Grand Wagoneer’s “American Winter,” in spots three and four, respectively. Ace Metrix survey respondents gave the Audi spot high marks for creating an “upscale” impression, with a “desire” score 6.2% above industry norms. “American Winter” wowed with its visual scenes, which Ace Metrix viewers rated as the “single best thing” about the ad.

Lexus rounded out the ranking again with “Hustle,” which scored highest among the list on Ace Metrix scores for “likeability” (3.5% above industry norms), “attention” (4%) and “watchability” (3.2%).
