With the emergence of driving assistance and automation, vehicles have become active users of location information.

To ensure that these systems benefit from this, irrespective of their navigation status, HERE has created a solution that can provide location directly to driver assistance systems – including speed limits, lane information, road features and other road attributes relevant for driving assistance – that complements the vehicle’s perception stack.

This enables driving assistance and critical safety features to be available on all vehicle types, independent of whether the vehicle has embedded navigation, a brought in solution, or no navigation option. While this capability has been especially important to enable car makers to meet the European Union Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA) mandate, it broadly enables driver assistance and safety applications across car lines and trim levels across the globe.
