SDRC: Concept to Production in 90 Days

Ohio-based SDRC introduces Express Automotive Solution, Web-based product development software tailor-made for the auto industry that drastically reduces the time it takes manufacturers to go from concept to production to 90 days. The key is data management. During the early stages of a project, manufacturers are confronted with a myriad of issues and problems such as satisfying engineering requirements and determining material usage. However, many of these decisions already have been made. SDRC's challenge is to find the right data. An SDRC official likens it to putting an already assembled puzzle together, making the task simpler and cheaper. SDRC says the software allowed Ford's Mondeo European passenger car to launch 13 months before it would have without the software.
