Jeep’s First BEV Hits U.S. Market This Fall

Stellantis’ Jeep brand says its first all-electric vehicle, the Jeep Wagoneer S, will go on sale in the fall of 2024 in the U.S. and then in key markets worldwide.

The Wagoneer S will be sold exclusively as a BEV, offering all-terrain capability and advanced Jeep brand-focused technology. The electric powertrain generates 600 hp and 0-60 mph (97 km/h) acceleration in about 3.5 seconds, Jeep says.

A teaser photo released by Jeep shows “a reimagined LED-lit class-exclusive seven-slot Jeep brand grille.”

The Wagoneer S will be the latest addition to Jeep’s lineup of electrified vehicles already comprising the Wrangler 4xe and Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrids. It will be joined later this year by the Wrangler-inspired all-electric Recon; Jeep announced in 2022 that it would introduce both BEVs this year (Wagoneer S prototype, pictured below).

The global electrification initiative “is in full support of Stellantis' ambition to become a carbon net zero corporation by 2038 as outlined in the company's Dare Forward 2030 long-term strategic plan,” Jeep says in a news release.

Stellantis has said it will bring four all-electric Jeep models to the market in both North America and Europe by the end of 2025, and an all-electric Jeep Wrangler EV is estimated to go on sale in 2028, according to UAW documents cited by The Verge.
