Wraps Come Off Most Powerful Range Rover to Date
Sub-4-second sprint time and 180 mph top speed claimed by the new Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two.
Range Rover unveils its most powerful model to date in the shape of the new Range Rover Sport SV, Edition Two.
This big beast boasts 626 hp and 553 lb.-ft. (750 Nm) of torque from its 4.4L twin‑turbocharged MHEV gasoline V-8. Range Rover Sport SV claims a 0-to-60 mph (97 km/h) sprint time of 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 180 mph (290 km/h) when using the lightweighting options available for the model.
The weight-saving features amount to 167 lbs. (76 kg) shaved off the vehicle’s standard weight and include carbon ceramic disc brakes and standard‑fit aerodynamic enhancements including a carbon fiber hood.
Customers can also specify a specially designed summer tire, which extends the car’s cornering capability, with up to 1.2G steady‑state lateral acceleration achievable in the dry – a 0.1G increase compared to the standard‑fit all‑season tire.
Range Rover Sport SV Edition Two comes in a range of special colors including Blue Nebula Matte, Ligurian Black Gloss, Marl Grey Gloss and Sunrise Copper Satin. Prices and global market availability are to be announced later this year.
Geraldine Ingham, managing director, Range Rover, says: “What makes Range Rover Sport SV so desirable is its unique combination of dynamic performance, modern sporting luxury design, its cutting‑edge sensory technology and breadth of capability."
