Honda Displays Three New BEVs at Auto China 2024
Two production-ready and one near-ready concept model launch the automaker's new Ye Series electric assault on the Chinese market.
Honda reveals two new battery-electric vehicles and one concept at the 18th Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2024) later this month.
It has published the first official images of its new Ye Series in the shape of the Ye P7 and Ye S7, together with the Ye GT Concept. Honda expects to launch a total of six Ye Series models in China by 2027. The new series will join the automaker’s current e:N Series BEV models in China.
Ye Series is likely to target the hotly contested entry-level market in China claiming to offer more value for customers. Both of the first models are developed on a new dedicated BEV platform and will be available in two variations – a one-motor rear-wheel-drive model and a two-motor all-wheel-drive model.
Interior lighting quirks include fluctuating emission patterns of LED lights on the instrument panel and door panels that change in conjunction with the AI-powered assistance and other functions. Both models will enter the Chinese market by the end of 2024.
Meanwhile, Honda’s Ye GT Concept enjoys a “low and wide” silhouette reflecting its grand tourer aspirations, the driver’s sports seat echoes the racing driver look and feel and Honda promises the model's dynamic performance will reflect the sports experience. A series production version of the Ye GT Concept is scheduled to go on sale before the end of 2025.
