Next-generation VW Beetle due by 1998-99'

Not unlike aging rock stars and other pieces of nostalgia, the vehicle that made big waves as an inexpensive car in the 1960s will be making its comeback in the '90s. Volkswagen has plans to build an all-new Beetle in Mexico for introduction in 1998 or 1999. The gum drop-shaped car went out of production in the 1980s because it couldn't meet emissions regulations and VW's popularity in the states
