Volkswagen AG has yet to decide whether to revive the Transporter, a.k.a. the “micro-bus,” an icon of '60s flower power.

But U.S. dealers want it back, says Frank Maguire, VW of America's sales and marketing chief.

“American VW dealers in Germany got a peek at upcoming and potential products for the next five years,” he says. “The head of the dealer council, Al Gossett, said that of all those vehicles, the dealers were most excited about the microbus.”
