It may be the oldest trade-in in history.
Perryin Santa Barbara, CA, took in a ’29 Ford Model AA pickup truck. The seller offered it and a Chevrolet Silverado as trade-ins toward the purchase of two new Ford F-150 pickups.
“We believe this may be the oldest vehicle ever accepted as a dealer trade-in on record,” saysspokesman Ron Hall.
“There is no ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ category for this, but while there are certainly older vehicles still out there on the road, and older vehicles at auction and private sale, we fully believe no one has ever traded in an 83-year-old vehicle on a new car.”
Walter Alfaro, Perry Ford’s general manager hasn’t decided if he will keep or resell the truck.
“But for now, he has an amazing showpiece for his showroom,” Hall says.
