Audi-Airbnb Ad Books Second Week Atop Ranking
The ad, which shows a family getting away from it all at a home in the desert – and a dad taking the R8 on a most unusual errand – closes with an unexpected sales pitch: “Book this house. Drive the 205 mph Audi R8. Right now on Airbnb.”

For the second week in a row, an Audi R8 ad that also plugs a Death Valley Airbnb property is No.1 on the Most Engaging Auto Ads chart, powered for WardsAuto by iSpot.tv.
The ad, which shows a family getting away from it all at a home in the desert – and a dad going on a most unusual errand while driving the R8 – closes with an unexpected sales pitch: “Book this house. Drive the 205 mph (330 km/h) Audi R8. Right now on Airbnb.”
The house and the car are a package deal, thanks to Audi and Airbnb, an online site for overnight or short-term rentals of individuals’ homes or apartments, teaming up to co-market.
The rest of the rankings feature long-running ads from Ford, at No.2; Mazda at No.3 and No.5; and Hyundai at No.4. The Mazda ads, which both feature voice-over work by Aaron Paul of “Breaking Bad” fame, are notable for the level of support they’ve gotten; the automaker has given both of them more than 2,000 airings each on national TV.
iSpot.tv tracks TV ads in real-time and allows customers to monitor social actions, search activity and online video views associated with TV spots across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google, Bing and Yahoo!.
