The commercial pairs an Audi R8 sports car with an exotic house in Death Valley – a combination available for rent in a $610-per-night package.

An unconventional Audi ad for its high-performance R8 that also promotes a Nevada Airbnb property captures first place in this week’s Most Engaging Auto Ads ranking, powered for WardsAuto by iSpot.tv.

The commercial shows a family starting out their day in a beautiful, modern home situated amidst the barren, unforgiving landscape of Death Valley. When the mom tells the dad they’re out of coffee, he jumps at the chance to run an errand, because the garage houses an Audi R8, which he literally races to a nearby coffee shack.

The ad closes with Audi’s familiar tagline, “For those who love to drive.” But it also adds an unexpected sales pitch: “Book this house. Drive the 205-mph Audi R8. Right now on Airbnb.”

The house indeed is available to rent – for $610 a night, including the Audi. As the listing puts it, “By day you’ll get the chance to experience the car to its full potential in Death Valley and by night sleep under the stars in a one-of-a-kind Airbnb architectural gem.”

No surprise the exhilarating Audi ad tops the chart, rounded out by a number of commercials that have been running for some time. Second on the list is a spot for the ’17 Ford Fusion titled “The Beauty of a Well-Made Choice,” followed by Toyota’s “Wish Bold” ad, an ever-popular Mazda “Driving Matters” commercial and Infiniti’s “Emotions Per Millisecond” spot starring Kit Harrington of HBO’s “Game of Thrones.”
