Acura to Debut Sports Car Concept in Detroit

Acura says the sports car concept will “provide a glimpse of the next-generation Acura exotic sports car.”

American Honda Motor Co. Inc.’s Acura division will take the wraps off a new sports car concept at the upcoming North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

The “Advanced Sports Car Concept” comes on the heels of the “Advanced Sports Sedan Concept” shown by Acura at November’s Los Angeles auto show.

Acura says the sports car concept will “provide a glimpse at the next-eneration Acura exotic sports car.”

Acura has said a next-generation NSX sports car will debut in 2009, with a new V-10 engine.

Honda Motor Co. Ltd. President and CEO Takeo Fukui will deliver the keynote remarks at the Acura press conference, set for Jan. 7.
