Audi AG says Ralph Weyler, board member for marketing and sales, has vacated his position.

Weyler, who joined the Audi board on Oct. 1, 2003, is establishing his own consultancy firm but will remain as an advisor to Audi and the Volkswagen Group.

Replacing Weyler will be Peter Schwarzenbauer, currently president of Porsche Cars North America Inc., who assumes the marketing and sales role on April 1.

Rupert Stadler, Audi chairman, says Schwarzenbauer’s “excellent understanding” of the North American market will be an asset in his new role.
