Use of security glass grows

Nearly impenetrable security glass for side windows is slowly winning applications in high-end luxury cars. Already used on Audi's top-line A8 model, BMW AG has announced the special glazing will be standard equipment on the '97 75OiL, priced at $93,300. The glazing consists of two separate panes of glass bonded to an impact-resistant laminated film, which provides protection against "smash and grab"

Nearly impenetrable security glass for side windows is slowly winning applications in high-end luxury cars. Already used on Audi's top-line A8 model, BMW AG has announced the special glazing will be standard equipment on the '97 75OiL, priced at $93,300. The glazing consists of two separate panes of glass bonded to an impact-resistant laminated film, which provides protection against "smash and grab" type thefts and insulates against noise, heat and ultraviolet radiation as well.
