Approximately 20 Cadillac dealers are now building and selling supercharged 500-plus hp XS-500 Escalades. More than twice that number have ordered CoolCharger Supercharger Systems and PowerPak Kits as used on XS-500 Escalades to enhance performance.

Dealers are on average retailing 2002 XS-500 Escalades for $25,000 to $35,000 over stock vehicles prices, depending upon wheel/tire and brake package choices.

Actual transaction prices range from $75,000 to over $100,000.

The Escalade has become popular in certain urban markets. It's popular with many celebrities, especially rap artists who've dubbed it “the Slade.”

The XS-500 Escalade comes stock with a 500-plus horsepower powertrain, Proprietary-Programmed PCM, low-restriction intake and exhaust systems, re-engineered EuroSport suspension, upgraded wheels and tires and special disc brakes.
