Chevrolet will offer an SS version of the upcoming '04 Malibu, but the division isn't sure whether the performance option will be mated with the base sedan or the wagon-like Maxx model.
The Malibu Maxx SS was unveiled at the New York auto show earlier this year sans engine. The powerplant still is to be determined.
Chevy will build about 200,000 Malibus for '04, with 60% expected to be the regular Malibu sedan and 40% the Maxx hatchback.
