Tadge Juechter, a 47-year veteran of General Motors, is something of a legend inside the automaker. Having been a member of the Chevrolet Corvette team since 1993, he has impacted the past four generations of the iconic sports car and led engineering on the past three. It was Juechter, for example, who decided to shift the Corvette to a mid-engine setup.

He retired last month, but before he checked out, he talked to WardsAuto about the ZR1 that Chevy is unleashing for the 2025 model year, a road and track beast that produces over 1,000 horsepower.
