Chrysler LLC has sent letters to be delivered today via UPS to 789 of its 3,188 dealers notifying them their franchise agreements will be terminated on June 9.

The auto maker also submitted the list to the bankruptcy court this morning.

Dealers on the termination list will have 23 days to contest the decision in a court review.

Chrysler says it will not buy back inventory including parts, tools and vehicles from terminated dealers. The auto maker, however, will connect the dealers with remaining dealers who will purchase the inventory.

Dealers not terminated also are receiving letters informing them of their status.
