VIENNA – Nellemann Holding AS, the Denmark-based automotive import and retail group, is taking over the Ssangyong Motor Co. Ltd. import business for the three Baltic countries Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

UAB Nellemann Baltic, Nellemann’s subsidiary based in Kaunas, Lithuania, will handle the import activities in all three countries.

The first two dealer agreements already have been signed with the Estonian company AS Pleione, which is a former Ssangyong importer and current dealer for Korean-sourced Chevrolet cars, and SIA Adam Auto, a Chevrolet and Adam Opel GmbH dealer in Riga, Latvia.

“We plan to have 10 to 14 dealers in the Baltic countries by the end of 2006,” says Jacob Nellemann, business development manager based at the company’s headquarters in Copenhagen. He expects to sell 400 to 600 Ssangyong vehicles in the Baltic region this year.

Nellemann Holding is the Danish importer for the Aston Martin, Jaguar, Kia and Lotus brands. It also is a retailer of Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia and Ford vehicles. Last year, the company began operation of a Kia dealership in Warsaw.

Jacob Nellemann does not exclude the possibility of branching out into other countries.

“We are looking at other markets as well,” he says.
