Volvo Car appoints Doug Speck, currently president of Volvo Cars of North America, as senior vice president-marketing, sales and customer service, effective June 1.

“We will undertake a global review of the entire marketing and sales organization and Doug Speck will play a major role in this very important work,” President and CEO Stefan Jacoby says in a statement.

Prior to heading up Volvo’s North American operations, Speck held key positions with Ford and Jaguar over the course of his 30-year career.

Speck, 52, succeeds Gerry Kearney, who is leaving the auto maker after 20 years of service. A successor to Speck has yet to be announced.
