VWA Names Ellis to Marketing Post

Volkswagen’s new top marketer in the U.S. comes from Volvo’s Swedish headquarters.

Tim Ellis is appointed vice president-marketing for the VW brand for Volkswagen of America Inc.

Ellis, who will begin his new role at VWA next month, arrives from Volvo Car Corp., where he was global director-advertising, media and sales promotion, in Gothenburg, Sweden.

He has held marketing posts outside the auto industry, as well, with Major League Baseball and Norwegian Cruise Lines, VWA says.

Ellis will report to VWA CEO Stefan Jacoby.
