Bollinger Motors unveils its E-Chassis, described by the electric-truck manufacturer as the world’s first Class 3 electric platform.

The E-Chassis platform is shared with Bollinger’s B1 Sport Utility Truck and the B2 Pickup and will accommodate future models and other trucks developed by the Ferndale, MI-based company.

E-Chassis features include a dual motor, 120-kWh battery pack with optional 180-kWh battery pack for longer range requirements, all-wheel drive, all-terrain capability, 5,000-lb. (2,268-kg) payload, antilock brakes, electronic traction control and electronic stability control.

The E-Chassis can be customized for a variety of uses, including front- or rear-wheel-drive configurations, with or without portal gear hubs, and is easily adjustable to fit various wheelbases, Bollinger says.

The E-Chassis will be manufactured alongside the B1 and B2 trucks and made available for commercial use in 2021, the company says.

Green Car Reports says Bollinger is still taking $1,000 deposits for its electric SUV and pickup, which will start at $125,000, and aims to begin deliveries in first-half 2021.
