Fisker dumps 2023 models into the bargain basement.

Fisker announces it is slashing U.S. prices for its '23 models by more than a third in recognition of a severe slowdown in sales of battery-electric vehicles.

The move also could be linked to the automaker’s ongoing financial woes. Leading the bargain-basement sell-off is the range-topping Ocean in Extreme trim by $24,000, down from $61,499 to just $37,499. On top of this, its '23 Ultra trim will be priced at $34,999, reduced from the current $52,999, and the 2023 Sport will be priced at $24,999, down from $38,999.

All the reduced models nevertheless will benefit from Fisker’s latest '24 Ocean OS software version 2.0. Certain Ocean vehicles come equipped with as much as $7,000 worth of additional options, such as colors, 22-in. wheels, interiors and other options included in the discounted price. The price cuts will be operative from Friday, March 29.

In a statement, the automaker says, “Fisker is strategically positioning the all-electric Ocean SUV to be a more affordable and compelling EV choice, competitively available to EV buyers in the broadest possible market, and constantly improving via frequent over-the-air software updates.”
