When it was released, the Jaguar I-Pace made headlines as the brand’s first electric vehicle and for its style, capability and design. The EV won numerous awards and gathered a load of mostly positive reviews from critics.

The 2022 model year brings notable changes to the I-Pace lineup, including a reduction in trim choices and more standard features.

The ’22 lineup has been whittled from three trim levels to just one. The automaker says the single HSE trim will focus on quality and notes the new I-Pace will be driver-centric. The electric motors will combine to provide 394 hp and 512 lb.-ft. (694 Nm) of torque and will deliver all-wheel drive as standard.

Inside, the new I-Pace will feature the newest version of Jaguar’s Pivi Pro infotainment system (pictured, below). The latest software has been streamlined to give drivers the ability to accomplish 90% of everyday tasks in two screen taps or less. The system also will run Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and will allow two phones to pair simultaneously using Bluetooth.

Pivi Pro will work with the I-Pace’s onboard monitoring systems to provide the latest charging and battery power data to the driver.

Other standard features will include an 825-watt Meridian 3D Surround-Sound system, 20-in. wheels, 16-way heated and cooled front seats, leather upholstery, LED headlights and a power tailgate. Jaguar will offer a 3-D surround-view camera system and a Clearsight digital rearview mirror for the EV.

Beyond features, the big story with the ’22 I-Pace is its improved charging time. The vehicle’s onboard charger has been upgraded to 11 kW, which means connecting it to a 100-kW charger can add up to 63 miles (101 km) of range in just 15 minutes.

The vehicle also will feature a new preconditioning system that filters cabin air before any passengers enter the vehicle using a PM2.5 filtration system.

Jaguar says the I-Pace also receives new standard driver-assistance features: adaptive cruise control with steering assist and stop-go, head-up display, emergency braking, blindspot monitoring, safe exit assist system, driver-condition monitoring system, lane-keep assist and traffic sign recognition with adaptive speed limiting.

The ’22 Jaguar I-Pace will start at $69,900. Interested buyers can place an order with their local Jaguar dealer now, and the vehicle will begin shipping in August.
