Fiat at the upcoming L.A. auto show will display the new ’14 Fiat 500 1957 Edition, a vehicle designed to celebrate the 57th anniversary of the original Nuova Cinquecento.
Jason Stoicevich, head of Fiat-North America, says in a statement the special-edition Fiat 500 was “created for Italian car and design fans who want an added sense of the historic Cinquecento’s spirit.”
Based on the ’14 Fiat 500 Lounge model, the 1957 Edition boasts a vintage look, with classic exterior colors including a special white hue or a bi- light-green-and-white scheme with a painted roof and mirror caps.
The limited-edition car also has exclusive 16-in. retro-design wheels with body color accents and a large center cap with the historic Fiat emblem. A sport-tuned suspension and all-season performance tires come standard for improved handling, while throwback Fiat badges on the front and rear fascias round out the exterior.
An ivory interior is contrasted by leather brown seats with vertical accent stitching across the seatbacks and cushions. Brown door armrests and shift boot accent the seats.
The ’14 Fiat 500 1957 Edition is powered by a 1.4L MultiAir 4-cyl. engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The automaker says the car should achieve an estimated 31/40 mpg (7.5/5.8 L/100 km) city/highway.
The special edition B-car arrives at dealerships in spring 2014, with pricing to be announced closer to launch.
