Fiat Auto SpA is set to show off its latest design concept that bridges the gap between an off-road SUV and a multipurpose vehicle.

The Fiat Idea 5terre, named after the Cinque Terre strip along the Mediterranean coast, will bow at the Geneva Motor Show this week.

It is derived from the Fiat Idea multipurpose vehicle that debuted last year in Geneva. Distinguishing the 4-wheel-drive 5terre is two-tone bodywork, special moldings around the front and rear bumpers, roof rack and more aggressive grille and fascia.

Inside Fiat uses natural materials such as woven coconut matting to cover the floor and rear luggage compartment. Controls have a metallic finish “similar to molten steel,” the auto maker says. Seats are covered in a new ultra-microfiber called Alcantara that was developed for the car by Trend Design Alcantara and features a marble look
